Assessment Only Route to Qualified Teacher Status
What is the Assessment Only Route?
The Assessment Only (AO) Route is a brand new assessment route leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Suffolk and Norfolk Initial Teacher Training is one of only 19 providers in the country to pilot this route for 2011-12 and the only AO provider in this region.
The AO Route does not require candidates to undertake a period of training so if candidates are successful through selection, they move straight into the assessment process. The assessment period usually lasts no more than one term.
